Title: THE INFAMOUS CAMBODIAN CHESS IS REAL!!!
Post by: Asher Hurowitz on April 01, 2018, 09:22:18 am
Hello!

I'm sure you are all aware of Hill's apparently apocryphal Cambodian chess, which looks like a combination of Makruk and Xiangqi.
I was talking recently with a good friend who is an archeologist for South East Asian department at the MET and is in Cambodia via email.
They were visiting a little known temple site that no one goes to (it's smaller than the more popular temples and isolated far away) that dates from the fourteenth century that has vivid depictions of the game in relief from. The small villages around the temple play the game fervently.

Pictures of both will be up when I receive them! (Also remind me how to post pictures while our image folder is full)
Thanks!
Asher

Hey! We want to know all about this. As of the publication of our book, all reports of this game had been traced back to a single source -- no confirmation or independent corroboration. A good bit of evidence would rewrite the story of this game.

I'm sorry my colleague is having difficulties sending images through email internationally but we are getting that fixed. Thanks for your patience!

Hello!

I would merely ask that you direct your attention to the date on which I published my claim.

Thanks!
